Adelante Latina Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program 

 

Adelante Latina is a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program designed for young Latinas. Historically Latinas have been known to have top rates in Teen Pregnancy.

Recent studies have shown that the birth rate per 1,000 teenagers ages 15-17 fell from 51.9 percent in 1991 to about 17 percent in 2012. Despite the fact that among Latinas the birth rate also declined in recent decades, the index remains higher than among other groups. Tulare County continues having the highest rates of teen pregnancy in the State of California.

Adelante Latina was established with the great task of reducing the high rate of teen pregnancy among Latinas in Tulare County. Part of our mission is to educate our young Latinas at an early age and teach them about the different options they have. Also to encourage them to the purist and guide them to higher education.
