The Latino culture is communally-minded and places family identity higher than individual identity. To Latinos, every action an individual takes reflects on the family, whether negative or positive. With the great importance of protecting the family and community as a primary motivation for change, we developed an innovative model using Cultural Affirmation and Restoration of Family Traditions as key elements where the well-being of the person/family/community is central to the process.

 

For more than 23 years The Latino Commission (TLC) uses this model to provide bilingual/bicultural health and human services to the Latino Community and others, helping people improve their quality of life and health.
