Los Guerreros met twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays for 3-hours per session.  Throughout the process of the curriculum, students learned why teen pregnancy prevention is so important. One of the main goals of LG is to motivate young men to understand why it is so significant to target not only young women but also young men. Understanding the important role they play to prevent teen pregnancy is essential. Our young men are frequently overlooked and the significant part that they play in reducing teenage pregnancy. We also know that young men are much less likely than young women to access sexual health services. The United States National Research Council says that teenagers become parents due to a lack of individual responsibility, maturity, knowledge, and values. Teenage parenthood results from the problems associated with poverty, including limited education, employment opportunities and the likelihood of growing up in a fatherless family.
